Such an inspiration! This book reminds us to remain true to ourselves, to trust our instincts and ignore what doesn't feel right. It was interesting to read about Ms. Westwood's childhood and adolescence, as that shaped who she became. The journey from childhood to current times was filled with warmth and revere for this amazing designer and caring activist. Names from the worlds of rock and fashion are mentioned in very interesting context. A true artist, as a fashion designer, she influenced must of what has become commonplace in fashion - zippers as decorative accent, for example. And the corset-based dress that is the staple of the red carpet wouldn't be if it weren't for Ms. Westwood bringing the corset out of history and onto the catwalk. I feel like I took a fashion history class by the end of the book. Enjoyed every minute.One caveat - I listened to the audio book (audible), which does not provide access to images that are in the book. That is a MAJOR downfall to the Audible book. Even with that, 5 stars!

A bit boring. Read the out of print "An unfashionable life" by Jane Mulvagh for a much better (& trashy) account of the greatest fashion designer of the late 20th & 21st century.
